He urged citizens and thought leaders to reflect on the crucial question of ensuring fair and prompt justice, while acknowledging that multiple obstacles in the legal and administrative systems continue to cause delays.

Birla praised scholars for their contributions to strengthening India’s democratic institutions and emphasized the need for continuous reforms to align governance with democratic values.

Paying tribute to Dr LM Singhvi, an eminent constitutional expert, legal scholar, writer, and poet, Birla recalled Singhvi’s profound impact on India’s democratic institutions, his contributions to constitutional drafting worldwide, and his role in promoting Indian democracy, culture, and dignity abroad.

The Speaker reiterated that close coordination between the three pillars of democracy is vital for delivering justice without delay. He noted that while India’s legal framework continues to evolve in line with democratic ideals, significant challenges remain in safeguarding justice and human dignity.

Chief Justice of India Justice BR Gavai also addressed the gathering, underlining the importance of the theme and calling for collective action to ensure timely justice and uphold human dignity.
